Old Keystone Golf Course is a small subdivision of large custom single-family homes set along the River Course, one of Keystone's two golf courses. That alone makes it unusual. Keystone is mostly condos and townhomes, so a detached home on the course, on its own lot with its own garage, is a rare find here, and this is one of the few pockets that offers it. The homes run large and high-end, from full custom builds of the 2000s to brand-new construction going up now.
If you want a real house at Keystone rather than a unit in a building, and you like the idea of the course out your door, this is a short list to watch. It is also small and slow to turn over, so the right home does not come up often.

What makes it distinct
The obvious draw is that these are detached homes, not units. You get a lot, a garage, and space, on a golf-course setting, which is a combination Keystone does not offer in many places. For a buyer who has looked at condo after condo and wants a real house, that is the whole appeal.
It also skews newer than Keystone's other single-family pocket. Where the established Keystone Ranch homes largely date to the 1980s and early 1990s, Old Keystone Golf Course carries custom construction from the 2000s onward, including new builds underway now. That means more current floor plans and finishes, and with new construction it means the usual diligence on timeline, warranty, and what is actually included.
The golf and the setting
These homes front the River Course, Keystone's valley course, not the Ranch course up on the high meadow. The River Course plays along the Snake River, a Hurdzan and Fry layout that opened in the early 2000s, and the setting is a large part of the value here, both the outlook and the quiet. Golf itself, meaning course access and any membership, runs through the resort and is separate from owning a home in the subdivision. Frontage and the exact outlook still vary lot to lot, so it is worth confirming the view and privacy on a specific home before you commit.
Rentals here
Jurisdiction first. The Town of Keystone runs its own short-term rental program, and at the town level there is currently no cap. But this is a single-family community with its own HOA, and rentals are governed at the community level, so if rental income is part of your thinking, confirm the current HOA position in writing before you buy. For many buyers of a home like this, the point is a private base to use and eventually settle into, not a nightly rental, and the quiet that comes with that is part of what they are paying for.
