Copper Mountain ski area and the surrounding peaks under winter snow in Summit County, Colorado

Summit County Events Calendar

This is a running guide to what is actually happening around Summit County, kept current through the seasons, from Breckenridge and Keystone to Frisco, Silverthorne, Dillon, and Copper Mountain. It is organized by town, so you can jump straight to wherever you are headed.

Dates move, and ski-season events depend on the weather and the mountain. I keep this page updated, but always confirm with the venue or organizer before you plan a trip around a specific event.

Written by a Local Who Is Actually at These Events

I'm Tucker Zimmerman, an Associate Broker with Slifer Smith & Frampton and a full-time Summit County Realtor. I live in Frisco, I keep this calendar current because I am out at these things myself, and I have spent years helping people sort out the county: which town actually fits how they live, what it costs to own here, and how the short-term rental rules work. If coming up for the events every year has you thinking about owning a place instead of booking one, that is the conversation I am good at.

Before You Go

Mountain events sell out, move dates, and change venues more than you would expect, and ski-season events hinge on the weather. Treat this page as your starting point, then confirm the detail with the organizer. If you are coming up for a specific weekend, book lodging early. The good ones fill the whole valley.

Coming Up Every Year? You Are Not the Only One

A lot of people start out booking a place for a big event weekend or a powder day, and a few years in they decide they would rather own something here than rent it. If that thought has crossed your mind, that is the part I can help with.

I am Tucker Zimmerman, a Realtor who lives and works in Summit County. No pressure and no sales pitch, just straight answers about what it actually costs to own here, which towns fit how you use the place, and what the short-term rental rules allow if you want to rent it when you are not using it.

Tucker Zimmerman, Associate Broker, Slifer Smith & Frampton. Browse Summit County homes for sale or read the guide to living in Summit County.

Summit County Events FAQs

When is the busiest event season in Summit County?

Two peaks. Ski season from roughly November through April, and summer from June through early September. Spring and fall are quieter, which some visitors prefer.

Are there free events in Summit County?

Plenty. Many of the on-mountain celebrations and the Snow Sculpture Championships are free to walk through, and summer brings free farmers markets and concerts in the parks. Parking and food are where the cost shows up.

Which Summit County towns have the most events?

Breckenridge runs the fullest calendar, followed by the ski areas like Arapahoe Basin and the town of Frisco. Use the town jump links at the top to go straight to wherever you are headed.

Where should I park for events?

Most towns have free or paid public lots and run shuttles during big events. Breckenridge and Frisco both get tight on peak weekends, so arrive early or use the free transit between towns.

Do I need to book lodging ahead for event weekends?

For the big ones, yes. Holiday weekends and marquee festivals fill the whole valley, not just the host town. If a specific event is the reason for your trip, book well ahead.

Why do some events here say the date is still expected?

Resort and on-mountain events often set exact dates late, and some depend on snow. Where the date is not yet official, it is labeled Expected. Confirm with the organizer before you plan around it.

Newest Summit County Listings

227 Wild Irishman Rd, Keystone
$5,900,000
6 Beds ⋅ 7 Baths ⋅ S1072033 MLS
This recently completed, custom built legacy property is a 6 bedroom, 7 bathroom mountain modern home spanning 4,946 square feet. It backs directly to the Snake River, with views of Buffalo Mountain to the west, and the ski slopes are about 3 minutes away. This remarkable residence was designed for the mountain lifestyle: mornings by the river, sunsets around the fire, and evenings under the stars. Every detail has been meticulously thought out and no expense was spared, so the home feels effortless to live in and is built for the whole family across generations. Outdoor living is the centerpiece, with more than 1,500 square feet of space. The main level deck features an outdoor kitchen and fireplace, while the lower level patio adds a fire pit and hot tub. Gas overhead heaters, a $150,000+ investment, extend outdoor comfort year round. The chef’s kitchen is anchored by a 6-burner Viking range with griddle and double oven, plus a double wall oven, refrigerator, and two dishwashers. A prep kitchen with freezer, beverage cooler, and Viking cooktop makes catering easy. The great room’s floor to ceiling glass floods the space with light; the wet bar has backlit onyx, a wine cooler, kegerator, and temperature controlled wine display. The main-floor primary suite overlooks the river and mountain, with a spa-like marble bath, soaking tub, steam shower, and large walk-in closet. Upstairs, the loft with a private deck and en-suite bedroom. The lower level is a home within the home, with a full kitchen and four bedrooms with four baths. It can divide into two 2 bed, 2 bath suites with separate entrances, ideal for multigenerational living. One closet is designed for a future elevator. Life here follows the seasons, and each one has its own adventure. Summer is for trails, bike rides, tee times, tennis, and days on the water with a fishing rod in hand, while winter opens the door to skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. Both short- and long-term rentals are allowed.
