Peregrine at Copper Mountain
Peregrine is one of the buildings I point buyers to when they want space and a view rather than a compact studio. It sits in East Village near the Super Bee lift, it was built in 1973 as part of the original core of that side of the resort, and many of its units have spacious decks that look straight out at the Tenmile Range. If you want a larger floor plan, a real deck, and morning light on the mountains, Peregrine is worth understanding before you compare it to the newer condos at Copper.

Location East Village, near Super Bee |
Ski access Short walk to the Super Bee lift |
Best for Buyers who want space & deck views |
The quick take: Peregrine is a space-and-views play. The floor plans run larger and more varied than most Copper buildings, several have been beautifully updated, and the decks with Tenmile Range views are the real draw. Because it dates to 1973, finishes vary a lot from one unit to the next, so at Peregrine the specific unit matters more than the building name. That is a feature, not a flaw, if you know what to look for.
What Peregrine is, and who it fits
Peregrine belongs to the first generation of Copper condos, built in 1973 when East Village was taking shape. Buildings from that era were laid out before floor plans got standardized, so the units are larger and more varied than what you find in the newer product. The mix runs from efficient studios all the way up to three- and four-bedroom layouts, including two-story top-floor units with a loft and a vaulted, beamed ceiling. If you want room to spread out, or a place that can sleep more people without feeling like a shoebox, this is the kind of building that has it.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is a buyer writing off an older building on age alone. At Peregrine, the age is what gives you the space, the deck, and the view, and several owners have taken those bones and remodeled them into something genuinely nice. A clever owner can use the varied layouts to carve out a bunk area or a work nook, which is real differentiation you cannot get in a cookie-cutter condo. What I tell buyers is that the varied floor plans are the opportunity here, as long as you go in knowing the finishes are not uniform across the building.
The honest read: because Peregrine dates to 1973, the finishes vary a lot from one unit to the next. Some have been fully updated with high-end kitchens and new fireplaces, and some are still closer to original. That is not a reason to avoid the building. It just means the specific unit matters more than the address, and you should judge each one on its own condition, deck, and view rather than assuming they are all alike. I can help you tell a strong unit from a weak one before you make an offer.

Location and ski access
Peregrine sits in East Village, the quieter end of Copper Mountain near the Super Bee lift, Copper Station, and the day lodge. This side of the resort has a calmer feel than the walkable core of Center Village, and it puts you close to Copper's steeper terrain off the Super Bee. Most Peregrine units are a short walk to the lift, though the walk varies by unit, so if being close to the snow matters to you, check the specific location. Center Village and its dining are a short walk or shuttle ride away, so you are not far from the middle of the action when you want it.
Building and amenities
|
Comfort and access Elevator access, a common hot tub, and a sauna for warming up after a day on the hill. Some units come with on-site management and a stop on the resort bus line. Underground parking is the common setup. |
Space and views Ski storage on site, plus the feature that sets Peregrine apart: spacious decks with morning views of the Tenmile Range. The larger, varied floor plans give owners room that newer buildings often do not. |
Short-term rentals at Peregrine
Copper Mountain is in unincorporated Summit County, so short-term rental licensing runs through the county rather than a town program. A license does not transfer to you on sale, so you apply as the new owner. Peregrine's larger floor plans and deck views can be a real advantage on a rental, since they give a listing something to stand on beyond price.
Before you rely on rental income from a specific unit, confirm the current requirements on the Copper Mountain short-term rental rules page and read that unit's HOA documents. The rules matter more than any projection.
Peregrine: pros and things to consider
|
Pros Larger, varied floor plans up to three and four bedrooms. Spacious decks with Tenmile Range views. Quieter East Village location near the Super Bee lift. Elevator, common hot tub, sauna, and ski storage. Several units beautifully updated. |
Things to consider Built in 1973, so finishes vary widely from unit to unit and some are dated. Walk to the lift depends on the specific unit. East Village is quieter and a step removed from Center Village dining. Judge each unit on its own condition and view. |
Peregrine: common questions
Is Peregrine ski-in ski-out?

Considering buying or selling at Peregrine?
I work the full Copper Mountain market and can walk you through how Peregrine units compare on price, condition, fees, and rental history before you make an offer. Because finishes vary so much here, that unit-by-unit read is where the real value is. If you already own at Peregrine and are thinking about selling, I can tell you honestly where your unit stands against the rest of East Village.
