The Cache at Union Creek at Copper Mountain

The Cache at Union Creek is the most recent condominium development at Copper Mountain, built in 2007 and 2008, and that matters more than most buyers expect. It sits at the Union Creek base in West Village, the quieter side of the resort, and the units are larger and more consistent than the older condo product on the mountain: in-floor radiant heat throughout, granite counters, stainless appliances, and an in-unit washer and dryer. For a buyer who wants modern, turnkey space at Copper without a remodel, this is the building to understand first.

Best for

Turnkey modern space & low-maintenance ownership

The quick take: The Cache at Union Creek is the modern, turnkey option at Copper. The finishes are consistent from unit to unit, the floor plans are larger than the older buildings, and you are not buying a remodel project. The tradeoff is the quieter West Village location at the Union Creek base, a bit removed from the Center Village action. If you value space and modern quality over being in the middle of the base area, start here.

What The Cache at Union Creek is, and who it fits

The Cache is the newest condominium development on the mountain, built in 2007 and 2008, and it shows in the product. These are larger, more comfortable residences than most of Copper's condo inventory, running one, two, and three bedrooms, with in-floor radiant heat throughout, granite counters, stainless appliances, gas fireplaces, and an in-unit washer and dryer. Several of the three-bedroom units are ranch-style with vaulted ceilings and some of the largest private decks of any condo at the resort. Many units come with a private heated one-car garage, which is unusual for a Copper condo and genuinely useful in winter.

The Cache solves a different problem than the older buildings. With most Copper condos, the finishes vary unit to unit and you are often planning some level of update. Here you are buying consistency and space. What matters more than whether a given unit has been remodeled is whether the quieter Union Creek location fits how you plan to use the place. For a buyer who wants to close and start using the property immediately, without a project, the modern build quality is the whole point.

The honest read: at The Cache you are paying for modern, turnkey quality and larger square footage, and there is far less unit-to-unit variation than you get in Copper's older buildings. That consistency is the strength. The tradeoff is location: West Village at the Union Creek base is quieter and a bit removed from the Center Village dining and lift scene. That is not a flaw, it is a preference. If being in the walkable core matters more to you than space and finishes, we should also look at Center Village. If you want turnkey space and a calmer base, The Cache is hard to match at Copper.

Location and ski access

The Cache sits at the Union Creek base in West Village, the quieter, more low-key side of Copper near the Woodward campus and the beginner terrain. It is steps from the Union Creek lift, and one of its better-kept features is that it is roughly equal distance to two sets of chairlifts: the West Village lifts, Woodward and Kokomo Express, and the Center Village lifts, American Eagle and American Flyer. That gives you flexible access to the mountain without being in the middle of the busiest part of the base. Center Village has more dining and a more walkable core, so if you want to be in the thick of it, that is the tradeoff to weigh. What The Cache offers instead is a calmer setting with quick lift access and more space per unit.

Building and amenities

Inside the units

Modern, consistent finishes across the building: in-floor radiant heat throughout, granite counters, stainless appliances, gas fireplaces, and an in-unit washer and dryer. Larger floor plans than most Copper condos, with vaulted ceilings and big decks on several of the three-bedroom units.

Building features

A common hot tub and ski storage on site, plus a private heated one-car garage on many units. This is a low-key building at the Union Creek base rather than a large amenity complex, which keeps the setting quiet and the ownership straightforward.

Short-term rentals at The Cache at Union Creek

Copper Mountain is in unincorporated Summit County, so short-term rental licensing runs through the county rather than a town program. A license does not transfer to you on sale, so you apply as the new owner. The Cache's modern, turnkey finishes and larger floor plans tend to photograph well and show well, which helps a unit compete on the rental platforms.

Before you rely on rental income from a specific unit, confirm the current requirements on the Copper Mountain short-term rental rules page and read that unit's HOA documents. The rules matter more than any projection.

The Cache at Union Creek: pros and things to consider

Pros

Copper's newest condo product, built 2007 and 2008. Consistent modern finishes with radiant heat, granite, stainless, and in-unit laundry. Larger floor plans than most Copper condos, and many units include a private heated garage. Steps from the Union Creek lift with flexible access to two lift areas.

Things to consider

West Village at the Union Creek base is quieter and a bit removed from the Center Village dining and core. Amenities are modest by design, a common hot tub and ski storage rather than a full complex. Confirm the fee picture and garage assignment on any specific unit before you make an offer.
